Robby Robbins – Catering Director at Chenault Vineyards
A native of Rockcastle County, Kentucky—Spiro to be exact—Robby Robbins brings a lifetime of culinary passion and professional expertise to the judging panel of the Kentucky Food Truck Competition. With deep roots in the Bluegrass and a career that’s taken him coast to coast, Robby blends Southern tradition with global culinary insight. Robby served seven years as Director of Catering at Eastern Kentucky University, producing some of the largest food events in the school’s history. He now leads the culinary charge as Director of Catering and Culinary Services at Chenault Vineyards in Richmond, Kentucky—working to build a true culinary destination on Poosey Ridge. With over 15 years in the catering industry and more than 20 in marketing, events, and promotion, Robby has judged and competed in dozens of food and cocktail competitions. He brings not only a refined palate shaped by diverse experiences, but a deep respect for the craftsmanship behind great food. As a fourth-generation steward of his family farm, raising Scottish Highland cattle and a menagerie of poultry, Robby understands the full journey of food—from pasture to plate. Julie Jensen – Pastry Chef and Food Network Competitor- Cakes by Julie
Julie Jensen is an award winning cake artist based in Lexington, Kentucky, known for her sculpted custom cakes that are as jaw-dropping as they are delicious. She has competed on Food Network multiple times and continues to wow with her creativity and flavor. A proud foodie, restaurant lover, and champion of all things local, Julie is passionate about supporting small businesses, celebrating the Kentucky food scene, and staying active in community charity work. She’s thrilled to return to one of her favorite events, this time as a judge after being absolutely blown away by the flavors she sampled last year. From sweet to savory, she’s eagerly awaiting the chance to explore the best bites the Kentucky food truck community has to offer, bringing her expert palate (and a big appetite) to every “truck” along the way. Awndrea Newman – Culinary Instructor at Madison County Schools
Awndrea Newman is a dedicated culinary educator with over 25 years of experience teaching the art of food to the next generation of chefs. As a high school culinary teacher, she has inspired countless students to pursue careers in hospitality and food service, blending hands-on training with a passion for creativity in the kitchen. Throughout her career, Awndrea has shared her expertise in baking, cooking methods, and food safety, while instilling in her students the importance of teamwork, professionalism, and a love for great food. Rick Paynter – Owner of The Kentucky Shop
Rick Paynter is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and social media personality based out of Lexington, Kentucky. Rick founded The Kentucky Shop in 2013 with his wife Joni, and The Kentucky Strong initiative in 2018. Since, they have raised over $1.8 million dollars for various charities through their t-shirt fundraisers. Outside of his work with The Kentucky Shop and Kentucky Strong, Rick is most well known for his humorous takes on Kentucky culture to over 700,000 followers across social media. Attendees will be allowed to pick their personal favorite to win the People’s Choice Award! On the day of the event, you will scan the QR code that is by the food trucks as well as on signage. You may vote 1x per email address for your favorite food truck. The winning food truck will win $500 plus bragging rights.
